Podiatrists must generally complete 20 hours of CPD each registration year, including 5 interactive hours, and maintain CPR evidence; surgeons and endorsed practitioners have additional requirements.

Registration year: 1 December to 30 November; AHPRA registration renewal is 30 November.

Category and topic requirements

Interactive CPD (minimum 5 hours): At least 5 hours must involve interaction with other practitioners.
Different CPD activity categories: CPD should include more than one activity type where required by Podiatry Board guidance.
Scope-relevant CPD: The 20 hour default does not map to fixed CPDKeep category minimums.

Standalone requirements

CPR certificate: Maintain a current certificate or other evidence from an approved training organisation for CPR, anaphylaxis management and automated external defibrillator use; this training is separate from the 20 CPD hours. Cadence: Renew CPR annually and anaphylaxis management and automated external defibrillator training at least every three years.

Caveats

Scheduled medicines endorsement requires an additional 10 relevant CPD hours each year; podiatric surgeons require an additional 20 surgery-related hours and current approved advanced life support evidence.
The default profile does not calculate endorsement or surgeon totals; CPR and advanced life support must be checked against registration type and Board guidance.
