Category and topic requirements
- Clinical or scientifically based CPD (minimum 48 hours): At least 80 percent of the 60 hour cycle should be clinically or scientifically based CPD.
- Non-scientific CPD (maximum 12 hours): No more than 20 percent of the 60 hour cycle should be non-scientific CPD.
Caveats
- The Dental Board publishes fixed 3-year cycle dates; the current cycle listed during this review was 1 December 2025 to 30 November 2028.
- Dental specialists should check whether specialty-specific CPD expectations apply in addition to the Board standard.
Dental requirement data is a CPDKeep tracking summary only. Practitioners should confirm cycle dates, clinical/scientific classification, and audit evidence against Dental Board guidance.
